Spooky Pictures is a freeware stack intended mainly for pre-school kids. It allows a child to make and save a color halloween picture by selecting images from palette choices which include witches, bats, pumpkins, ghosts, cats and so forth.
You can save a picture. A little parental guidance is suggested here, in naming the picture and placing it in the appropriate folder.
If your kid is "mac-centric" like mine is, he or she will probably do ok on his or her own.
Spooky Pictures¬ 2.3 is intended for those with HyperCard version 2.3, which supports TextToSpeech. You don't have to have TextToSpeech enabled to use Spooky Pictures¬ 2.3, but it sure is a lot more fun that way! Every picture you choose from the palette will make a sound!
Spooky Pictures¬ 2.2 is intended for those with HyperCard version 2.2, which does not support TextToSpeech.
Spooky Pictures¬2.2 ought to work fine with a 2.2 player.
I have not tested Spooky Pictures¬ with the HyperCard Player or with earlier versions of HyperCard.
If you have HyperCard 2.3 on an older color machine and Spooky Pictures¬2.3 seems slow with speech, disable the TexttoSpeech extensions, or try Spooky Pictures¬2.2.
